“I’ve been at Marler for two years. Now I live in my own apartment inside Marler…. I’m here for 2 charges of aggravated assault and one felony. I spent a lot of time hanging around gang members and drug dealing. Now I have to take responsibility for me.”
“Yup I’m pregnant.”
“I got three years and six years hanging– one count of vehicular homicide and four counts vehicular assault. I was in a coma for two months. I used to get by on my looks but– head scar and glass eye– no more getting by on looks. It was a fatal car accident.”
“I’m the highest ranking Norteño in the system, I am very religious. My whole family visits me and my extended family. There is no stigma to being in the system when a lot of the family is in the system.”
